On October 27th-31st KENET held organized Scalable Campus Network Training residential hands-on course. The training is an advanced course for experienced network engineers and administrators. We had over 29 trainees from; Public Universities, Private Universities, and Constituent University Colleges.
The course was sponsored by Google and was conducted by KENET senior engineers. The trainees had a chance to use new state-of-the art network engineering laboratory setup to gain necessary skills to administer large scale campus networks. Some of the course that were covered include; Introduction to Network Management, Network Monitoring Tools, Campus Network, Design principles and best practices, Campus Network Structured Cabling, Campus Network, Designs Round-table, Research Infrastructure, Cisco configuration essentials, HP Configuration essentials, and Cyber Security.
The training was organized on a Training of Trainers format with the expectation that the trainees will train other technical staff on their campus and nearby neighboring institutions.
