Journalism Internship Position

Kenya Education Network Trust (KENET) is a National Research and Education Network that promotes the use of ICT in teaching, learning and research in higher education institutions in Kenya(see http://www.kenet.or.ke for further details).In order for the KENET website to remain up to date with relevant news/content, KENET wishes to invite interested and qualified persons to submit applications for the above vacancy.

Position

The KENET Internship program aims at giving the Intern's hands-on experience on certain aspects of the working environment. The position to final year students or recent graduates of journalism or communications. The KENET Internship program will run on a 3-month basis.


Qualifications and Skills

Interested candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated excellent Oral and written communication skills in English

  • Be an undergraduate pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communication or Information Sciences - on vacation (preferably going to their final year) or who has just graduated

  • Experience with blogs, wikis, and mailing lists will be an added advantage

  • Hardworking and Self-driven - can work with minimum supervision
