Sir Tim Berners-Lee Breakfast Meeting

KENET had a breakfast with the inventor of the World WIde Web Sir Prof. Tim Berners-Lee at Serena Hotel on 20th November 2008. In attendance were over fifty faculty and student representatives from different Kenyan Universities which included Moi, Baraton, Egerton, University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, United States International University, Strathmore University among Others. The breakfast was kindly sponsored by the Kenya ICT Board.

Sir Tim introduced his new foundation (http://www.webfoundation.org) that aims to ensure that the web is used by the 80% of humanity that does not yet have access. He also introduced the new multi-disciplinary area of research that the foundation is promoting called Web Science research (see http://www.w3.org/2009/Talks).
