KENET-NSRC Campus Networks Training

KENET in collaboration with the Network Start-up Resource Center (http://www.nsrc.org) at the University of Oregon organized a campus networks design and operations training course for institutions network engineers which was held on March 8-13, 2010.

The main topics that were covered in the five-day intensive and hands-on course included:

  1. Introduction to design of large and high-speed campus networks (to include IP address allocation)
  2. Design of large wireless campus networks and integration with the backbone networks
  3. Campus network security and performance management (FCAPS).
  4. Introduction to multicasting and BGP routing protocols
The participants were senior network engineers, network administrators, heads of campus infrastructure and security .Each institution was issued with an optical fiber termination kit and are expected to get Gigabit switches .
