Visit by Thomas Schmid of DFN

Thomas Schmid from DFN visited KENET for two weeks as part of an exchange collaboration of technical personnel between KENET and DFN. DFN is the Research and Education Network for Germany (see this link) one of the most advanced NRENs in Europe.  Earlier on Mr. Josphat Karanja who is the head of infrastructure at KENET visited DFN in Germany for two weeks and saw first hand how they operate their network.

It is hoped that with this collaboration, KENET can learn a lot from similar advanced NRENs in Europe and other parts of the world such as DFN in Germany. KENET and DFN are planning similar exchange programmes in the near future.
