This will enable them to ensure the bandwidth they are been provided with is been used for academic work and not been consumed by viruses, spam, peer-to-peer traffic and other malware.

The training was held at Multimedia University College as from June 8th 2009 to June 22nd 2009. The facilitators of the training included:

  1. Aptivate – (http://www.aptivate.org)

  2. ISOC – The Internet Society (http://www.isoc.org)

  3. TENET – Tertiary Education Network (http://www.tenet.ac.za)

  4. Allan & Nesta - The Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust (http://www.fergusontrust.co.uk/)

  5. INASP – The International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (http://inasp.org)

They were also able to compare their various experiences in in their respective workplace and assisted each other on various ways they can help each other improve their institutions.

The tarining was a success. More details concerning the training and what was learnt and disscussed can be found on http://oer.aptivate.org
