Prof. Meoli Kashorda is the Executive Director and CEO of KENET and a Professor of information Systems at USIU, Kenya. He is a former dean of the USIU School of Business and has over 20 years of teaching experience in ICT courses at UON, USIU and Strathmore University.
His research interests are in ICT indicators in education and business and e-readiness assessment frameworks appropriate for developing countries. He has a BSc. in Electrical Engineering from University of Nairobi and a PhD in Electronic Systems Engineering from the University of Essex, England and is a Member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (MIEEE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology(MIET)
Mr. Josphat Karanja - Head of Infrastructure
Josphat Karanja joined KENET on 1st November 2008. He holds the position of Head of Infrastructure at KENET. He holds Masters in Information Technology (Strathmore University) and a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Jomo Kenyatta University). Prior to joining KENET, Josphat has worked at Strathmore University and Save the children UK, both in IT Management
Mr. Eric Sifuna - Network Engineer
Eric Joined KENET on 1st July, 2009 as a Network Engineer, Previously he worked with Telkom Kenya as a Senior Executive Engineer.He holds a Bsc. in Electrical &Electronics engineering from the University of Nairobi. Eric is currently persuing a Masters degree in Information Systems from the University of Nairobi.
Mr. Earnest Gateri - Accountant
Earnest Gateri holds a CPA (K) with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Catholic University. He is currently persuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Kenyatta University. He has worked with KENET since 2006.
Mr. Fernandes Korir - Management Accountant
Fernandes Korir holds a B.com degree from Kenyatta University and a CPA (K) holder. He has experience in finance and accounting having previously worked with Finlays and KTDA as an accountant. He is currently persuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration at the University of Nairobi.
Mr. Oscar Gatama - Systems Administrator
Oscar Gatamah joined KENET late 2004 having been previously engaged with Capstone Computers as a Technical manager. He is Cisco Certified and primarily works on routing networking. He is also in charge of Linux/Unix server administration.
Mr. Kennedy Aseda - Network Engineer
Kennedy Aseda joined KENET in 2008 and currently works as a Network Engineer. He holds a Bsc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University Of Nairobi and is a certified CCNA, CCNP and CCIP (Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional). His primarily works on KENET's core network and focuses on routing, switching and configuration backup of network devices. He also has a passion in process automation of network tasks and notifications.
Maureen Wanja - Systems Administrator
Maureen holds a Bsc. In Electronic and Computer Engineering from JKUAT. Maureen is currently working on shared services and training , and is part of the campus networks and implementation group. Maureen is a trained Wireless Network design expert
Mr. Peter Muia - Systems Administrator
Peter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and graduated from the University of Nairobi in 2008. He was initially attached to the Marsabit project and assisted Kenyatta University lecturers develop multimedia enhanced interactive content for the project. Currently, he is a systems administrator in the shared services department working on hosting services and elearning managemnet.
Peter has a CCNA certification and Linux Professional Institute level 1 certification.
Michelle Opiyo - Assistant Network Administrator
Michelle Opiyo joined KENET in November 2010 as an Assistant Network Administrator. She previously interned at Popote Wireless as an OMC Engineer (2009) as well as Access Kenya Group as a Wireless Data Network Engineer (2008). She holds a BSc. Electronic and Computer Engineering Degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and graduated in 2010. She is a certified CCNA passionate about routing and switching and Network Security. She is currently working to upgrade the router configurations in KENET's network spanning over 60 Cisco routers.
Hezron Mwangi - Assistant Systems Administrator
Hezron Mwangi joined The Kenya Education Network in November 2010 as an Assistant Systems Administrator. He previously worked at The Kenya Education Network first as an Intern from October 2009 to December 2009 and also as a Trainee Network Administrator from January 2010 to March 2010. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering and graduated from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in July 2008. He is currently working on automating KENET monitoring services and server administration.
Paul Kyule - Network Administrator.
Paul Kyule joined KENET in November 2010 as a Network Administrator. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Engineering from Moi University, Eldoret (2008). He has previously worked as a System Support Engineer with Infiniti Systems Ltd and as a Network Support Engineer with Instaconnect Ltd. He is currently involved in Project Management and IP Address Management for the KENET Network.
Bernadette Mwandau - Office Administrator
Bernadette Mwandau joined The Kenya Education Network in September 2011 as an Office Administrator. She has previously worked at The Kenya Education Network as an Intern from July 2010 to September 2010 and at Seven Seas Technologies both as an intern and Receptionist. A graduate of Strathmore University (July 2010), she holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration and Marketing. She is currently pursuing a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.
Achiki Cornelius - Assistant Network Engineer
Achiki Cornelius joined The Kenya Education Network in September 2011 as an Assistant Network Engineer. He previously worked at The Kenya Education Network first as an Intern from August 2010 to November 2010. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and graduated from University of Nairobi in July 2011.
