KENET Cyber Security Awareness Online Course
Introduction
As students, staff researchers and lecturers continue to put and access information online it is vital that they are also taught the importance of being safe online. Cyber security threats are becoming more and more common and we need to protect the computer systems from theft or damage to their content, software and/or hardware.
KENET saw the importance of educating its community on the various cyber-attacks and how to protect them. The objective the Cyber Security Awareness course is to a provide the KENET community with a general understanding of the threats to cyber/information security that they face, help them to identify the threats and vulnerabilities to their Institution’s information assets, and respond to them appropriately including detailing the countermeasures that can be adopted.

Each module varies in length between 30 minutes to 45 minutes and the entire course can be completed within 2 weeks. The learners are required to go through the course material and attain 70% and above to obtain a KENET certificate.
