KENET Online Network Monitoring and Management
This course is designed for those who are involved in system management, network monitoring and management and incident response.The target audience includes engineers and system administrators managing institution’s networks and any audience interested in a conceptual understanding of the architecture, attributes, protocols and features of the network.
The course details the technology basics of Cisco IOS Configuration, Installation & Configuration of Network Monitoring Tools, Log Management (Analysis) and network management architecture & protocols such as SNMP and Network Operation Centre (NOCs). It explains what’s behind the family of popular networking standards and procedures. The detailed course ourtline can be downloaded here course outline
Prerequisites:
- Laptop/PC
- Stable internet connection
- Medium to good knowledge of the UNIX/Linux command line environment
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- MUST have taken the ISOC Introduction to network operations course or can demonstrate are conversant with Unix/Linux
The course is hands on and requires participants to be conversant with Unix/Linux environments The participants will be exposed to hands-on activities on the KENET virtual lab https://vlab.ac.ke
A KENET certificate will be offered to those who attain >70 of the final exam and a completion of the hands on labs.
