Mrs. Catherine Kayesi Kelonye is an educationist with more than thirty years’ experience as a trainer across tertiary and basic education sectors. She is a results oriented administrator and accomplished professional in education, well versed in organizational planning and management with vast knowledge on policies governing examinations, quality assurance and curriculum development and implementation. She is conversant with the ongoing reforms in the Education sector and is passionate to steer the TVET agenda in Kenya through positive engagement with all stakeholders.
She holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University. Beginning as a high school teacher in 1990, Mrs. Kelonye became the Acting Principal of The Sigalagala National Polytechnic in 2019 before her current appointment as The Chief Principal of The Kisumu National Polytechnic in 2020. She is responsible for effectively coordinating the Governing Council’s set performance objectives and targets. Her ultimate goal is to give young people an opportunity to unlock their potential, to either better develop their employability prospects or become self-employed through starting their own business.
