Kenya Education Network (KENET) plans to conduct an ICT Readiness survey of Kenyan Medical Schools. The aim of the survey is to establish how ICT is being used to transform teaching, learning, and research. The survey will be conducted from March to April, 2015 among seven medical schools in the following institutions; University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, Moi University, Maseno University, Egerton University, Mount Kenya University, and Kenya Methodist University.
The data will be collected using hard facts questionnaires to be completed by deans and a perceptions questionnaire to be completed by a small sample of first and second-year students. Focus groups shall be established among medical schools students to establish their ICT needs for education, research and other uses. The focus groups shall be facilitated by two medical students currently on vacation, Ted Omwenga and Val Ataro while hard facts questionnaires shall be administered by research assistants who are employees of the respective universities.
The results of the data collected will be published on our website and also sent to the Vice-Chancellors and Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s in charge of academics of the selected survey institutions.
