KENET conducted a successful Network Management and Bandwidth Monitoring Training from, 28th July to August 1, 2015. The training was conducted at the KENET Training room located at University of Nairobi. The class had 25 participants from 24 KENET member institutions. The training was funded by Google and KENET.
The training was geared to equip the trainees with necessary skills of managing and monitoring bandwidth usage on the campus network. The course also provided skills of bandwidth management principles within a campus environment and implementation of bandwidth policies. The trainees acquired skills to troubleshoot common campus network problems and install and manage network monitoring tools.
“I would like to thank Google and KENET for sponsorship to attend the Network management and monitoring training. I'd also like to thank my employer for giving me time off to attend the same. The training was well conducted and I was able to gain vast knowledge and skills from the different topics covered. The skills attained from the training will enable me improve network access services to our users at Pan Africa Christian University and also progress in my career as an IT specialist” said Mr. Phelix Ochieng.
The next training will be Cyber Security and will be held in October 26-30, 2015.
