Mr. Solomon Mburu
Mr. Solomon Mburu heads the ICT Department at Daystar University. Prior to his appointment at Daystar University, he was heading ICT at The Management University of Africa. He holds a BA (First Class Honours) degree from University of Nairobi, and an M Sc. in Information Systems specializing in Distributed Systems from the same University. He has a Diploma in IT from the Institute for the Management of Information Systems (IMIS) – UK and a Higher Diploma in IT from the National Computing Center (NCC) – UK, majoring in Advanced Programming and Business Management. He has a proficiency certificate for end users awarded by The International Computer Driving License (ICDL) Foundation, and A+ certification by The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). He is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) both by Microsoft.
He started his career at the Symphony Group in 2000. In 2004 he was appointed to head operations at the Institute of Advanced Technology (IAT), where he grew in the corporate ladder to be the Dean of ICT programmes in charge of ICT curriculums, local and International collaborations, a position he held until 2014, when he moved to The Management University of Africa (MUA). At MUA, he championed the implementation of ERP and Biometric records and streamlining of computer networks including expansion of WiFi. He has also served as adjunct faculty for Maseno University and St. Paul’s University.
His research interests are in distributed systems and IT security.
