Prof Meoli Kashorda - Executive Director
![]() Meoli Kashorda is currently the Executive Director of Kenya Education Network (KENET), the National Research and Education of Kenya providing a broadband platform for universities and research institutes (www.kenet.or.ke). He is also a professor of information systems at USIU University in Kenya with research interests in measuring the Institutional ICT readiness in developing countries, telecommunications regulation and broadband Internet as an innovation platform. He previously served as dean of the USIU business school in Nairobi and a telecommunications expert in the Communications Appeals Tribunal of Kenya. He holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Nairobi and a PhD in Electronic Systems Engineering from University of Essex in England. |
Mr. Eric Sifuna - Senior Network Engineer
![]() Eric Joined KENET on 1st July, 2009 as a Network Engineer, Previously he worked with Telkom Kenya as a Senior Executive Engineer.He holds a Bsc. in Electrical & Electronics engineering from the University of Nairobi. Eric is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Information Systems from the University of Nairobi. |
Luke Munialo Matere - Shared Services Manager
Luke Matere joined KENET on 7th May, 2012 as Shared Services Manager. He previously worked as Network Infrastructure specialist (Administrator) at Paynet Kenya Limited. Prior to that he worked at Telkom Kenya as Senior Technical Engineer in charge of Mobile Packet Backbone Network (MPBN & GPRS). He holds B.Tech in Electrical and communications engineering from Moi University and is certified as CCIP, CCNP, JNCIS, JNCIA and CCNA. He is currently pursuing Master of Business Administration, (MBA) from university of Nairobi. |
Kennedy Aseda - Senior Network Engineer
![]() Kennedy Aseda joined KENET in 2008 and currently works as a Network Engineer. He holds a Bsc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University Of Nairobi and is a certified CCNA, CCNP and CCIP (Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional). His primarily works on KENET's core network and focuses on routing, switching and configuration backup of network devices. He also has a passion in process automation of network tasks and notifications. |
Hillary Cheserek - Network Engineer
![]() Hillary Cheserek Joined KENET on 21st May 2013 as Network Engineer. His previous employment was at Adwest communications Limited where he served as the Chief Technology Officer. He holds a B.Tech in Electrical and Communications engineering from Moi University (2008) and is certified as CCIP, CCNP, CCNA and CCNA Voice. He also certified in other vendor products such Rad, ECI, Alvarion, Radware, RiT and Sonic Wall. |
Maureen Wanja Njue - Systems Administrator
![]() Maureen holds a Bachelor of Science Electronic and Computer Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and is also CCNA certified. Maureen joined KENET in 2008 as an intern and was eventually employed as an Assistant Systems Administrator. Maureen mainly focuses on Campus networks design and implementation . This includes both LAN and Wireless LAN design and implementation. Maureen is the lead in implementing eduroam in Kenya and also is the lead in the training services offered by KENET to member institutions. |

Hezron Mwangi - Systems Administrator
![]() Hezron Mwangi joined The Kenya Education Network in November 2010 as an Assistant Systems Administrator. He previously worked at The Kenya Education Network first as an Intern from October 2009 to December 2009 and also as a Trainee Network Administrator from January 2010 to March 2010. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering and graduated from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in July 2008. He is currently working on automating KENET monitoring services and server administration. |
Paul Nzau - Network Administrator
![]() Paul joined KENET in November 2010 as a Network Administrator. He graduated from Moi University in December 2008,and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering. In 2011 & 2012,he attended AfNOG Workshops and received training on Scalable Internet Services & Advanced Routing Techniques. Prior to joining KENET,Paul was employed as a Systems Support Engineer with Infiniti Systems Ltd,he later joined Instaconnnect Ltd,an ISP based in Westlands Nairobi as a NOC Support Engineer in October 2009.At KENET,he is part of the Network Planning &Development team and currently he is coordinating the roll out of the KTCIP Phase 2 Project(Fiber spur installation,termination,lighting & commissioning).He is the KENET lead in IP Address Management and in the last 2 years has played a leading role in the integration of several member institution's campuses to the KENET Network. |
