KENET conducted the advanced scalable campus network training for experienced senior network and system engineers with over three years of experience from April 4th to 8th 2016. The training was sponsored by Google and was conducted by KENET senior engineers. The training was attended by 25 participants from KENET Member Institutions.
On 8th March 2016, Dr. Fred Matiang’i, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology launched the first baseline survey of engineering departments’ report at the Intercontinetal Hotel, Nairobi.
Kenya Education Network's Certification Authority, the KENET CA got officially accredited as an on-line Classic CA. KENET CA is the first to receive the accreditation in sub-Saharan Africa! The accreditation was bestowed on us by the EUGridPMA (https://www.eugridpma.org) which is the international organisation to coordinate the trust fabric for e-Infrastructure for research in Europe, the Middle-East, and Africa during their January 2016 meeting held in Bratislava, Slovakia.
