KENET School Connectivity Project

The mission of KENET is to be a catalyst in the transformation of education using ICT. Since KENET Trust was constituted in 1999, it has focused on promotion of ICT usage in higher education institution. As of September 30, 2014, KENET had connected 152 campuses of universities and higher education institutions in different parts of the countries (see KENET coverage map at http://www.kenet.or.ke).

BERNet Team Visit KENET

In their effort to set up their National Research and Education Network (NREN) in Burundi, the Burundi Education and Research Network (BERNet) team planned to visit some NRENs in the East Africa Community to learn from their experience. To that end on 15th October 2014, KENET has the pleasure of hosting the BERNet team. KENET Staff take part in the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon

The 12th edition of the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon was held on 26th October 2014. KENET was represented in the marathon by its staff members who took part in the 21km and 10km races.  The marathon is a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative focusing on the eradication of avoidable blindness in Kenya.

UbuntuNet Connect 2014

UbuntuNet-Connect 2014 is the Annual Conference of UbuntuNet Alliance that focuses on research and education networking activities in Africa. It is organized by UbuntuNet Alliance and hosted by member NRENs. The 7th Annual conference of the UbuntuNet Connect 2014 will take place on 13th to 14th November, 2014 in Lusaka, Zambia and will be hosted by Zambia Research and Education Network (ZAMREN), the NREN of Zambia.
