The Ubuntunet Alliance in collaboration with TENET and the Africa Connect project successfully organized the first network operations meeting in Johannesburg South Africa from January 28 – 29, 2015. Representatives from four (4) connected National research and Education Networks (NRENs), including those from Uganda (RENU), Zambia (ZAMREN), Kenya (KENET) and the hosts, the Tertiary Education and Research Network of South Africa (TENET), attended the event. On October 27th-31st KENET held organized Scalable Campus Network Training residential hands-on course. The training is an advanced course for experienced network engineers and administrators. We had over 29 trainees from; Public Universities, Private Universities, and Constituent University Colleges.

In their effort to set up their National Research and Education Network (NREN) in Burundi, the Burundi Education and Research Network (BERNet) team planned to visit some NRENs in the East Africa Community to learn from their experience. To that end on 15th October 2014, KENET has the pleasure of hosting the BERNet team.
