In appreciation of the constant changing trends in the Information Technology world and the need to improve expertise of our members in the use ICT in learning and research, KENET helps build capacity through; interactive hands-on practical residential workshops, forums, and seminars at both local and international levels
On 21st January 2015, KENET donated 24 HP switches to 13 needy member institutions. The switches will allow the campuses to better utilize the high end services delivered through the network.

The Ubuntunet Alliance in collaboration with TENET and the Africa Connect project successfully organized the first network operations meeting in Johannesburg South Africa from January 28 – 29, 2015. Representatives from four (4) connected National research and Education Networks (NRENs), including those from Uganda (RENU), Zambia (ZAMREN), Kenya (KENET) and the hosts, the Tertiary Education and Research Network of South Africa (TENET), attended the event.
