KENET held half-day joint meeting for the Special Interest Groups in Engineering Education and Education Technology on July 15, 2015 at the KENET boardroom. The meeting was also attended by the Raspberry Pi grantees.
KENET in conjunction with Internet Society successfully organized a public lecture on “Internet Standards Development and the Internet Engineering Task Force”. The public lecture was graced and addressed by Olaf Kolkman, Chief Internet Technology Officer, Internet Society. The lecture was hosted at the USIU auditorium on 9th July 2015.
The forum brought together over 260 participants from 22 Kenyan universities. These included the best senior ICT graduate and undergraduate students.
In its endavour to transform education using ICT, KENET launched a Schools’ Connectivity Initiative (A CSR project). Currently, KENET aims to connect over 40 schools outside Nairobi County. Towards this, Kisii High School and Moi Girls High School in Marsabit have already been connected to the Internet.
