In its endavour to transform education using ICT, KENET launched a Schools’ Connectivity Initiative (A CSR project). Currently, KENET aims to connect over 40 schools outside Nairobi County. Towards this, Kisii High School and Moi Girls High School in Marsabit have already been connected to the Internet.
KENET and IBM have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that allows IBM to deliver advanced online hands-on certification courses to faculty and students of participating universities over KENET’s broadband network. These certification courses aim to develop and/or enhance entry-level job skills among university students and shall be facilitated by both IBM online trainers and certified faculty in the participating universities. ALL KENET member institutions will benefit from the certification program.
Anne Inapat, a graduate trainee at KENET was awarded a sponsorship by Google to attend the Africa Internet Summit (AIS) workshop in Tunis, Tunisia from 24th May to 5th June 2015.
