KENET was among the sponsors of the IEEE Kenya Students and Young Professionals Congress which was held on November 10 -11, 2022 at the Panari Hotel, Nairobi. The Congress themed “Innovation for Growth and Sustainability to drive Technological Change” brought together representatives from different industries to share and exchange ideas.

KENET’s internship program is in line with KENET’s motto of transforming learning, research and working environment using digital technologies for ICT. Through the Internship Program graduates get unique learning opportunities outside the academic setting to gain practical experience and develop news skills.
KENET holds the 2022 KENET Grantees Forum at Movenpick Hotel, Nairobi
KENET successfully held an in-person forum for 2022 cohort of grantees on July 29, 2022 in Nairobi. The main purpose of forum was to for the research team to meet with KENET research services team, that includes the part-time research associate and learn about the KENET research computing platform The forum was also an opportunity for the different teams drawn from different university or research institutes in order to promote research collaboration. The grantees also received feedback from their proposal reviewers.

Extended Call for Proposals: Computational Modelling and Materials Science Grants - 2022/2023
The Computational Modelling and Materials Science (CMMS) is one of the Special Interest Group supported by KENET to enhance research capacity development in the use of computational modelling in science and technology. Research grants support the research projects of early career PhD faculty and researchers in computational biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, environmental and engineering sciences. One of the mandates of KENET is to promote research collaboration. KENET subscribed to Elsevier Scival research analytic tool in January 2016 to measure the degree of collaboration among KENET members. The collaboration is measured in terms of joint publications indexed in Scopus database and is often used for global universities and research rankings.
